💛 Catherine Loew’s Story
Cabin 3 | September 5–7, 2025 | Sure Game Wilderness Resort
In December 2022, Catherine was diagnosed with both lobular and ductal breast cancer. Since then, she has bravely endured six surgeries, including a double mastectomy, hysterectomy, and reconstruction, along with ongoing treatments and injections. As a divorced mother whose youngest child just left for college, she has faced not only the physical and emotional toll of cancer but also the financial challenges that come with it.
This September, Catherine was gifted a stay in Cabin 3 as part of our Cancer Sucks Giveaway. It was a chance for her to step away from treatments and stress, and simply find peace in the Northwoods.
Here’s what Catherine shared about her time with us:
“We enjoyed a picture-perfect early fall weekend escape at the Sure Game Wilderness Resort. After completing 2.5 years of breast cancer surgeries and medication, it was a quiet, restful, cozy time. The pontoon boat and kayaks brought back memories from visiting my grandmother’s cottage. Making s’mores next to our cabin while watching the beautiful moon just made it perfect. Even my spoiled Yorkie enjoyed wearing his flannels and joining in on all the fun. We booked a week for next summer.”
